Makes you think....
A very close friend is going through a lot right now and she posted this online. It sounded so perfect about the pain people go through during a separation and or divorce, and how it must be dealt with......
When we separate from someone we have to untie ourselves from that invisible rope that has kept us connected to the other person. The fibers of this rope are made of memories; birthdays, casual days, walks in the park, conversations, laughter, inside jokes, and many other moments that are deeply engraved in our minds. ...There isn’t a knife in the world sharp enough to cut away the fibers of the memory rope.
Now lets think about this. A lot of people say that they are happy to be divorcing a person or leaving them. But truth be known if that person that is saying that has been with someone for a long period of time there are good memories with that person. But like the old saying goes it takes just one "Oh Shit!" to screw up a thousand "Atta Boy!"'s And unfortunately its the oh shits that people remember. It is this memory rope that make divorce painful. Its the 9 Christmases, 9 Thanksgivings, and all of the other things that you could have done together all the years you were with that person. Its those things that make divorce so painful. And its a pain that I don't wish upon my worst enemy. And its a pain that sometimes take a long time to get over. Because the side of you that was once very loving and wanted nothing more than to love as much as you are loved... died. Sometimes it can come back..... but it takes a lot of time. Time is such an evil word.......
